Jon Abrego graduated in Spain in 2001 with a Bachelor´s degree in Physiotherapy and due to his passion for sports and eager to help the athletes he went on to do his post graduate degree in Sports Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
On the first part of his professional career he moved to France to improve his skills and had the opportunity to work with multiple renamed colleagues in reputed places like the National Football association and The National Institute of Sports In Paris (INSEP) dealing with world class and Olympic athletes. He had extensive experience as well while working with the Professional Cycling team AG2R assisting the cyclists during many local and international races.
After a successful career in France he decides to leave to Dubai and starts working with the local professional football team Al Wasl Club where he had the unique opportunity to work along the coach Diego Maradona.
During his extensive career in Dubai, Jon Abrego combines his private practice at Dubai Healthcare City with collaborations at most of the professional sports events in Dubai like the Rugby Sevens, Dubai ATP Tennis, Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge, Polo Word Cup and etc…
Specialised in sports injuries he has a particular interest in muscle tears and ligament sprains and is keen on post operative rehabilitation. He has also developed a clinical interest in non-sporting injuries, in particular, those affecting the lower back and neck.
With a holistic approach and advanced knowledge on human biomechanics Jon is able to bring together high-quality manual therapy techniques and tailored exercise programs, with a strong understanding of his patients to help them achieve their goals.
